Because my head hurts..
1. Politics. As a California native there are many important things that need to be addressed in these upcoming elections. It seems like Obama pretty much has California in the bag. It seems like a good thing; not too bad. However, a friend brought up a pretty good point: Even though it seems like Obama may have successfully claimed CA in his campaign race (without even ever coming to California), it also may end up giving people the idea that they won't need to go out and vote.. And that would be fucking terrible.. Because right now the presidential race is irrelevant to us. Well, to me at least. Because right now all I care about (politically) are these Propositions that I have been following with fervor. There are 12 Propositions on the November ballot and none of them have less importance than the others. I won't proselytize my personal views, but the level of importance of the Props is equal to the level of the Presidential race, and they shouldn't be ignored.
2. The economy. So, what the shit is Social Security? It's not gonna matter to me when I'm my parents' age, so I know I'm going to need to start making my own plans to save up for my retirement.. If I ever do end up retiring from something.. Ha! I've read some articles from the Internet that suggest my generation do just that. But the question for me is: When do I start doing this? I think the most obviously answer is NOW, but it's hard to just set aside money like that when you're me: a materialistic, name brand purchasing, spending whore. What can I say? I love me some woot! And those stupid video games.. But I digest.. So, in other words I think our generation is pretty much screwed . I think there a some things we can do to help prepare ourselves for our future. I spoke with a friend recently about this subject and he said he wanted to start investing into our stock market while it's so low. He said we could sneak in there jump on the wagon and try to ride it as the stock market attempts to strengthen again. That doesn't sound too bad.
